„Espirro performance 1“
In early 2006, Nutkhut director Ajay Chhabra asked Lisbon-based composer and performer, Alexandre Pedro to collaborate with London-based poet and rapper Nikesh Shukla in the creation of a short cross-arts piece to be performed in a community festival setting. Using live music, spoken word and moving image, the artists took their audience on a comedic journey illustrating the history of the pepper trade and cultural exchange. The piece, entitled espirro! (sneeze), was developed with support from Visiting Arts and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and premiered at the London Mela in Gunnersby Park on 13 August 2006.
